Outreach
PURPOSE:
To glorify God by providing a structure for and to assist the members of Tri-City Baptist Church in fulfilling the Great Commission.
VERSE: Matthew 28:18-20
OBJECTIVES:
| 1. |
To provide a structure for evangelizing the lost in our geographical location (Jerusalem) through prayer and proclamation of the gospel. |
| 2. |
To develop a mind-set that evangelism is a lifestyle, not an event. |
| 3. |
To disciple new converts using the Word of God so that they might "grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." II Peter 3:18. |
| 4. |
To effectively assimilate new converts and new members into the local body through baptism, new member fellowships, small group ministry, Sunday School and Adult Bible Fellowship. |
PROGRAM:
| 1. |
Weekly outreach into surrounding neighborhoods and follow-up of visitors and prospects is scheduled for Wednesday evening. We begin our Operation "GO" with supper in the Church Fellowship Hall at 5:45 p.m., and dismiss for visitation at 6:15 p.m. We also offer a Saturday morning visitation that begins at 9:30 a.m. Individual and group training is provided for those interested in knowing how to effectively share Christ with others. |
| 2. |
Tracts and other materials on evangelism and discipleship are provided for the members of Tri-City Baptist Church. |
| 3. |
All new converts are discipled one on one by a member of the Discipleship Team using Seven Steps to Joy. |
| 4. |
People who come forward during the worship invitation at Tri-City Baptist Church are counseled by a trained person on the Altar Workers Team. |
